Too hard and the blade damages the belt. Too soft and wear accelerates under load. FM8 calibrates the Super XHD to the hardness window suited to Bowen Basin belt specifications, achieved through compound formulation rather than filler loading. The hardness-to-resilience ratio holds as the blade wears rather than shifting toward the aggressive end at end-of-life.
Blade Stiffness and Cross-Section Geometry
FM8 engineers the Super XHD cross-section to a specific stiffness profile: enough to hold cleaning contact through belt variation and oversize lump, not so stiff that splice events cause tip cracking. Cleaning efficiency at week five is not materially different from week one. That does not happen with a generic FRAS blade at day fourteen.
