Enter your inspection readings to get an estimated changeout date, wear curve analysis, and a 5-year TCO comparison against your current blade — benchmarked against FM8 field data. All projections are estimates based on field data and linear wear modelling — not guarantees of performance.

Site & system parameters
Underground coal conveyors require FRAS-certified blades under MSA 381 (Qld) and equivalent NSW legislation.
FM8 Super XHD is available in FRAS Black formulation.

Cost parameters
Lost production cost per hour of unplanned conveyor downtime
Combined rate for changeout crew — typically 2 technicians
The brand of the blade currently installed on this conveyor
Grade or product type of the incumbent blade
How often your current blade is changed out
Hands-on time per changeout event (conveyor stopped)
Operating conditions
FM8 field benchmark established at 6.0 m/s (Bowen Basin coal terminal, R²=0.96)
Mechanical splices increase blade wear rate and restrict blade material selection
Wet sticky materials increase cleaning demand and blade interface temperature
Larger pulleys improve blade contact geometry and can extend estimated wear life
Blade wear readings
Day 0 = installation date. Wear % is a visual estimate of blade material consumed — 0% is a new blade, 100% is fully worn to replacement thickness. Enter at least 2 readings.

Wear status
5-year TCO comparison
TCO model assumes equal blade unit pricing. Estimated FM8 wear life is adjusted for belt speed, splice type, material moisture, and head pulley diameter relative to the FM8 field benchmark (6.0 m/s, hot vulcanised splice, Bowen Basin coal). All savings figures are estimates derived from field benchmark data and the changeout intervals entered above — not a guarantee of performance or savings. CPI escalation of 2.5% p.a. applied to labour and downtime rates.
